This was originally going to be a post about the pros and cons between self-taught and taking classes, but I’ve decided to concentrate on educating yourself since I don’t have much experience with classes even with the few years in college taking Multimedia Arts. I do consider myself lucky that I had a Freehand Drawing professor who taught us concepts from the book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain (Amazon affiliate link), which now I own myself. It’s a literal lifechanger and I’ll always recommend reading it if you haven’t yet!
I do suggest attending classes/lessons/courses if they’re available, but it can be hard to tell if the teacher will be good. In some cases, it might actually make your art worse, so be careful!
Anyway enough about me, onwards with the post!

HDSooo, my family and I was supposed to go on vacation until June 12, but the flight was cancelled so uh, here’s the finished page at last!
We’re gonna try to fly again in a few hours, but ohhhh boy. We had to leave at 2 am and the trip to the airport took 2 hours, the trip back took what, 4 hours cause it’s the rainy season over here now, so some of the streets are flooded.
If the flight is cancelled again or some other unpredictable situation happens again, we’re just gonna give up on the vacay cause it’s just not meant to be I guess!

HDI dunno, it’s not pinupy enough I know. Had a hard time trying to decide on his pose or drawing him (and men in general) in the first place. Also not helping is that I’m still undecided on the “style” I should draw guys in, like, how do I draw their muscles? Or, how wide or thin they should be?
Oh well, I’ll figure it out eventually and practice is still practice!

on May 10, 2018 HDThis was supposed to be a sketch as usual buuut hey, why not introduce true!Hibi with a bit more oomph? Ready for prom or summer! Hothead also made another colored version using the sketch so, thanks Hothead, it’s adorable!
Tried out a lot of stuff for this drawing:
- Drawing tall!Hibi looks weird to me probably because I’m not used to it yet, so drawing her this way helps! Good thing you guys like her anyways!
- Wanted to try out using Copic markers, so I made do with this color palette and brush.
- Colored lineart. My usual style is black or a single different color. I don’t really use it that much since it’s additional work not only in terms of having to color the lineart, but you also have to consider how the colored lineart works with other colors.

HDMonthly Myan (and Friends) will be temporarily replaced with bikini pin-ups of the cast, sounds good?
I just want to throw my kittizens just a teeny tiny bit of fanservice (for guys and gals!) since it’s gonna be a while until they wear bikinis again.
Also, here’s a version minus the bikini, but only perverts will look at that, riiiight?
