104 – Waste Not
I dunno, what would you do if your pet got Myan’s collar? I doubt real animals have anything interesting to talk about, though it could be useful at times.
Transcript
Keith: Listen, if you want to give up your collar, fine. But I think it would be a huge waste if you did. And we'll definitely miss hearing you talk.
Keith: I know I would. Though when I adopted you, I wasn't expecting all of... this to happen
Hibi-Hibi: Sorry about that...
Keith: Now don't you be sad too!
pretty sure my dog would just ask for treats 24/7
Your dog has insomnia then XD
Lazylonewolf Rec FTW
Rec FTW …so will he get one of those speech synthesizer thingys?
My cat is handicapped from the waist down, as well as the clutzy and cuddly thing thats ever lived. He already deserves his own Youtube channel for all the sfunts he pulls every five minutes! Adding this collar to that? HE WOULD BECOME: Stephen Hawkins, crippled house cat and brilliant astrophysicist. Or Sunset Hawkins, since we named him Sunset :3
Saskyou Your right, cause in space, no one can hear you “Nyeh”.
No need to turn your story into some fantastic Sci-fi just to please us 😀
It’s your story, tell it however you please!
@hkmaly Lazylonewolf Saskyou Yeah that what I was talking about. Heh, maybe I’ll be able to work that in the story somehow.
@Tavis Lazylonewolf Saskyou Based just on what is written on wikipedia, I would conclude that the jellyfish age normally most of the time, but can go through transformation which makes them younger. So, Myan turns into one, goes through the transformation and then turns back.
@Tavis Lazylonewolf Saskyou I don’t know the specifics, but I think those jellyfish has a sort of “Fountain of Youth” thing going on, so I suppose Myan can stay young forever, maybe.
@Dues That’s how cats “work”. Soooo tiring.
Lazylonewolf Saskyou Nah, just turn into one briefly, and well, biological age being the same for an ancient jellyfish as a young one, she could pop back at whatever age fits! TIMEBREAKER!
Saskyou Hehe, though I doubt most animals will be interested with the things humans care about.
Oh and just wait til I finish the current episode, cause I think I’ll take some time to explain some of the collar’s power, though just remember to not take everything to seriously in this comic.
Hmm, well, maybe Myan can live forever, if she knows how to turn into one of those immortal jellyfish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turritopsis_dohrnii), but I guess she has to be permanently be that kind of jellyfish to remain immortal.
AeroQC Lazylonewolf man in black Heh, too bad (or good?) that we don’t have squirrels around here.
Lazylonewolf man in black SQUIRREL!
Well, if a real animal got a collar like that, they would just talk about whatever humans talk about. In the beginning they would be like children, but later they will get used to all those new neurons in their brains and make them do work. Just like children do.
The interesting thing about this idea is – where does the mental capacity go when they turn back into a not-so-clever form of life? Would they lose the things they’ve learnt if they turn back into a cat? Would they lose everything if they turned into, say, a fruit fly? Or would there be a hammerspace –a personal mental library of sorts– that stores their knowledge, and they could access it whenever they need it?
If the latter, then they have –and by extension Myan too– a serious potential in becoming the most intelligent being in the universe. Just need to find the most intelligent form they can become, and learn as much as they can in that form. That way their knowledge would be added to the hammerspace, and bam!
Even if they have to turn back into that form when they need to do major thinking, Shape-shifting is a seriously cool power.
And by major thinking I mean whatever humans would need the help of a supercomputer to do.
Myan can become the coolest Sci-Fi character yet. Or a fruit fly.
This also raises questions about whether or not she can live forever, but that’s for another comment.
skyem123 Lazylonewolf Heh, maybe except those kids. And yeah, she is a bit impulsive if her dad is there.
Lazylonewolf skyem123 Yeah, compared to some people, Myan is a really nice person.
Actually, Myan seems to be a nice person in general, just a bit too impulsive…
Fursik What, don’t you want engaging in intellectual and philosophical dialogues with your cat?
Do you not want to contemplate the deeper meaning behind “feed me” and “I want to climb this tree?”
GDA12294 Nah that’s the sun. Maybe a little too much sun at that panel, heh.
skyem123 And intentionally at that.
man in black I HAVE JUST MET YOU AND I LOVE YOU
ObsidianSpikes Whoops, nice catch there. Fixed.
Panel one, bubble two. small grammar fubar.
It would be useful, though it could be like the dog from Up as well
> what would you do if your pet got Myan’s collar?
Put the collar on myself and live the carefree life of a cat. The perfect plan until I need to start eating cat food. :3
His hair looks the wrong color in the first frame…
*le gasp*
THE MAGIC LEAKS TO HIM WHEN HE’S TOUCHING HER! 8D
I would point out that most humans have done more stupid things…
No more talking? Sounds surprisingly tempting…
