153 – Under the moonlight
Mmmmm, I definitely need to make some studies with lighting, fire, and depicting nighttime. Still, drawing this makes me wanna go awoo.

awoo
Fire and night is hard! I mean it’s hard to get a good *photograph* even, so aiming for similarities to a photo doesn’t help much.
I think you did fine! Though the huge moon which just happened to be perfectly reflected in the water confused me for a bit. Now I’m seeing this whole scene as photographed from a long way away, since figures closer to the horizon would be smaller than the moon. But still, a reflected moon should be spread out more vertically by the waves than horizontally. And, reflected objects do not foreshorten 😝 okay I’ll stop now. Your lighting looks just fine to me!
Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I don’t live anywhere near any lakes, nor I can find an alright reference pic, so, might as well guess.
Huge moons look awesome and it’s one thing that I don’t mind being realistic on.
Yep, realistically sized moons are much smaller than the moon *seems* in person anyway.
