on January 31, 2018 HDOh yeahhh, coloring the flats was definitely faster ever since I organized my color palette in Clip Studio.
And it’s not too obvious, but I found another way to cel-shade. Not sure if it’s faster (I think it’s slower and messier), but it does make shading/highlighting over patterns a lot easier. Plus I can also use the technique with pencil-shading as well!

on September 18, 2017 HDSo, I tried it this time using the colors I usually use for the shadow/highlights instead of using a multiply blend. A bit more work to color it, but I’m happy to say that I found a way to mostly, if not perfectly, replicate how I shade/highlight in Flash… and then some!
Oh, and check out the backgrounds that can be downloaded for Clip Studio, niiiice.

on September 3, 2017 HDI’m getting the hang of using Clip Studio now! And sorry if you like the old/Flash style for the previous page, the screen tones just really look great on black and white!
Had bee playing around with the tool settings, and even changed some of the shortcuts to my liking, so yeah, I hope I can work better and faster next time!
I’ll be away from July 10 – 15 (in Japan!), so if anyone wants to submit guest comics/art for fun or to promote their own comic, then be my… guest! I’ll be posting your comics once a day during the week while I’m gone. If a lot of people submit, I’ll just update it multiple times a day. Some rules though:
- Something related to Cat Nine (duh)
- No NSFW. The most you can go is Barbie-level nudity like in page 20.
- Can be vertical or horizontal format, but all comics should have 1536 pixel width max.
- Please submit your comic by July 7 through email, Facebook, Twitter, or Discord. Include a link to your website if you want to.

I’ve deleted my Tapas account and all comics in it as of March 2021.
I figured out a much quicker way to “tapastify” my comics, yeyy. I’d prefer if you guys read here though, especially since Cat Nine at Tapas will be a month (or maybe even a whole Episode) behind cat-nine.net. I’ll only update there if I have the time of course.
