107 – She Stalks

It’s a little late, but I’m back! Hope you’re all ready for the new episode!

Honestly, I don’t think I was that productive during the hiatus, but at least I actually did some practice. It might not be visually noticeable , but the important thing is I’m finding it a lot easier to draw.

108 – Invite

Guhhhh, Keith’s pose in panel 1 took forever to draw for some reason, guess I should’ve practiced drawing more people sitting during the hiatus. At least I’ve got it mostly right, and I think I’ve vastly improved drawing backgrounds. Keith could use more “man-spreading” in his pose though, hahaha.

For those who use Flash to draw, I use the Line tool for drawing straight/man-made objects and backgrounds, but I’ve felt for a long time now that they’re, well, too perfect (and boring), especially for Cat Nine’s style. Now, I think I’ll just use them as a guide so I can draw them by hand. Who knew that (PROTIP->) a little bit of imperfection can add more personality!

Keith: That reminds me, Tammy invited us to go to the Zoo tomorrow. You coming?

Myan: Wow, I haven't been there in forever!

Keith: Wait, you've went there before?
Myan: Lots of times!

Keith: Ohhhh! So that's why you're aware of other animals.

110 – Class Assignment

I am liking the simpler, hand-drawn backgrounds that I’ve been doing recently.

Keith: Why are we here again?
Tammy: Photography assignment. Each of us were supposed to decide on a subject.

Tammy: I chose "instinct", but I don't have time to actually hunt for wild animals.

Tammy: So yeah, this is totally not an excuse to go sightseeing.
Keith: If you say so.

111 – Operation: Cheapskate

To be fair, Myan can actually work as a secret agent (complete with catsuit) if she wants to. Now, the question is if the Philippines has a decent spy agency or something… Sadly, we also don’t have any fancy zoos here, which is why they’re inexpensive. One ticket without any discounts is around $2-3 only.

Keith: It's not that expensive, but I'd rather not pay for Myan's entrance fee if I can help it.
Myan: sorry...
Cruz: Hmm, I have an idea...

Cruz: Okay, I'll scout the area for cameras and guards, Keith is the distraction, while Myan sneaks in. Try not to die.
Myan: I've sneaked in before!
Keith: I'll do anything to save a few bucks.
Tammy: Or you know, we can just, like, split her ticket. Guys? ...erm, what do I do?

Cruz: Take pictures of us being badasses, for posterity.
Tammy: Posterit- oh, Facebook.

113 – Just Go In Already

I think I’ve drawn Keith, the one in bird’s eye view, mostly correct. Whew!

If you haven’t read the post yet, I’m planning to make a new banner this Halloween. Feel free to suggest costumes for them!

Oh and have you noticed Cat Nine’s new redesign yet? Is it a yay or nay? Again, if you have any suggestions, just say so!

115 – Everyone’s Price

In the Philippines, you’re not considered an adult until you see a Philippine Eagle. People who haven’t seen the eagle yet are called “diagilas“, and they are treated as children no matter their age until they do see one. That’s why at the age of 12, parents have been known to send their children on pilgrimages just to see these eagles. Also, did I sound convincing cause I just made all of that up… or did I?

I don’t know how much you guys know about the Philippines, but I can probably make some stuff up and you wouldn’t know it, heh..heheh… (yes the above was all made up, but secretly wishing it was true)

116 – Zoo Guidance is suggested

I think my top view and long shot drawings are getting better. I sure hope so anyway.

Also, I’m making some more improvements around the site, like with more blogs/comics/art, and comment badges. Right now, I’m trying to come up with wallpapers and different themes for users in the comment section.
