188 – Praise the moon!
Took forever to draw the tattoos since I haven’t drawn them before, and moon goddesses gotta have white hair!

[decided to come]
Blonde Villager: Where the moon is most visible...
Red-head Villager: ...here we train and fight!
Brunette Villager: Through battle, we worship Her!
Isog: Our Goddess...
Isog: Haliya!
You think this goddess would be mooning everyone 😉
She lowkey did since the first time they met her, she’s turned around.
Haliya looks awesome.
You know, thinking a bit more, I’m kind of getting Exalted Lunar vibes here. Of course, that’s just me.
Well she is a warrior and has tattoos, but can’t shapeshift and is a literal goddess.
Can’t comment anymore on that since I don’t know much about Exalted in general since there’s sadly not much info on their wiki, compared to White Wolf’s other games.
There are, however, one or two webcomics in the Exalted setting!
Ah yes, dramatic reveals segue nicely into comedic situations. Of course with what happened in the last few pages, we could be in for a series of serious pages instead.
Also lazylonewolf, do you have any writing tips pertaining to character motivations that you could share?
Oof I dunno, got anything specific in mind? I’m flattered that you’re asking, but I’m not exactly that good a writer yet, and I’ll be the first to admit that!
I have a potential comic in mind. I drew the first two one-panel pages and then realised that at the most, I had a premise and about one more panel’s worth of an idea. Now I’ve made up a few character names but I don’t know what to do with them.
Hmm, depends if your characters are one-shots/has a continuity if your comic has an overarching story/standalone, or if it’s comedy/some other genre.
I’m guessing yours is standalone comedy comic strip. Well, if you don’t have good characters, or at least a solid idea of what you actually want to do, you won’t get far. Take for example Calvin and Hobbes boiled down to a to a simple sentence: a boy and his tiger. If you can’t explain your whole comic, or maybe even individual comic strips to a single sentence: you don’t have a clear idea, or have too many ideas cramped into a page.
If you’re a beginner, I suggest looking at your favorite comics, and then finding why you like them, and then imitating them. If you don’t have any, well, go find some comics to like.
Ah, my Goddess!
Hopefully the guy’s curse does not extend towards Haliya. I mean, would be rude to ignore a goddess let alone say that she (or parts of her) are fake.
“Ah, my Goddess!”
That was gonna be the title for the next page :p
